OUR STORY

It is indeed appalling that India, which has a population of 133.92 crores, has one hospital bed for every 879 people. According to the WHO, India needs 80,000 more hospital beds every year to meet the demands of this growing population.

Our 200-bedded hospital has a panel of well‐known super specialists focuses on delivering quality patient care at affordable rates. Prakriya Hospitals also employs multispecialty integration, innovative diagnostic and therapeutic technology to provide the highest standard of treatment. We intend to evolve into a one-stop destination for world class health care.

Dr. Prakash Ramachandra

Managing Director | Consultant Oncology (Radiation and Medical Oncology)

Dr. Prakash graduated from Mysore medical college in the year 1990. He then went on to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom. He trained in internal medicine from the University of Cardiff leading to the award of MRCP. He then went on to do training in Clinical Oncology, a combined training program in Radiation and Medical Oncology. He completed the 5 years training program in 2004 leading to the award of FRCR from the Royal College of Radiologist. He was accepted to the post of Consultant Clinical Oncologist at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust. During his tenure he held many responsible positions including Clinical Director of the Department of Oncology and Hematology, Royal college tutor for medicine & Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Srinivas Chirukuri

Director | CEO | Musculoskeletal Oncosurgeon

Dr. Srinivas C.H is a Consultant Orthopedic Oncosurgeon in Prakriya Hospitals, Bangalore and has vast experience of 12 years in these fields. Dr.Srinivas C H holds special interests in the management of musculoskeletal tumours and limb salvage surgeries, pelvic, spinal tumours, skin and soft tissue tumour surgeries in both adults and children.

He specializes in the limb salvage surgeries like megaprosthetic reconstruction, allograft reconstruction, curettage and bone grafting for benign tumours, internal hemipelvectomy and reconstruction of the pelvis, spinal  decompression and stabilization, radiofrequency ablation for tumours, expandable prosthesis for children with bone cancer, special surgeries for children, excision of soft tissue and skin tumours. He is also a passionate medical professor.

Dr. Somnath Chatterjee

Director | Medical Director | Consultant Anaesthesia & Intensive Care

Dr. Somnath Chatterjee is the Medical Director and Head of the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Prakriya Hospitals, Bangalore. He completed his MBBS in 1992 and MD(Anaes) in 1995 from JIPMER, Pondicherry. He then went to the UK for higher training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care. He completed his his FRCA in 1999 and CCST (West Midlands School of Anaesthesia) in 2003. He worked as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Critical Care between 2003 – 2006 in the Heart of England Foundation NHS Trust, Birmingham. He relocated to India in 2006 and was the Head of the Department of Critical Care at Manipal Hospital, Airport Road, Bangalore till 2010. He then worked as a Senior Consultant in Critical Care between 2012 and 2018 in Jurong Health (Ng Teng Fong General Hospital), Singapore. His areas of interest are Airway management, Quality Improvement and training in Anaesthesia and Critical Care.

Dr. M C Uthappa

Director | Senior Consultant Interventional Radiology

Dr Uthappa has been a consultant interventional radiologist for 5 years in UK and for the past 13 years in Bangalore. He has performed over 18,500 procedures in the last 20 years.
He has performed various vascular interventions (Angiograms, Angioplasty, Venoplasty, Vascular stenting), Hepatobiliary interventions (Chemoembolisation and Radioembolisation for liver tumors, embolisation in hepatic arterial and venous injury, RF ablation for liver tumours, Biliary drainage and stenting, Hepatic vein stenting, TIPSS), GI interventions (mesenteric angiograms, SMA stenting, Embolisation for various forms of GI bleeding, Oesophageal dilatation and stenting), Urology interventions (nephrostomy, ureteric stenting, Varicocele embolisation), Gynaecology procedures (Fallopian tube recanalisation, Uterine fibroid embolisation, Ovarian vein embolisation, embolisation procedures in high risk pregnancy), embolisation of vascular malformations, Varicose vein ablation procedures, RF ablation for Palliation in various forms of cancers and Central venous access for dialysis and chemotherapy. 

Dr. K R Madhava

Director | Consultant Medical Oncologist

Dr. K R Madhava is a Sr. Consultant, HOD – Medical Oncology in Prakriya Hospitals, Bangalore and has vast experience of 20 years in these fields. Dr. Madhava completed his MBBS in 1990 from Mysore Medical College. He completed post-graduation in General Medicine (MD & DNB) from TN Medical College & BYL Nair Hospital, Mumbai, 1995. He underwent further training in General Medicine in UK and attained MRCP in 2000. He completed the 5 year Clinical Oncology Specialist Training and was awarded the CCST in 2005.
